You won’t find any nasty chemicals, preservatives, colours or fragrances in our collection of organic baby skincare products – we have put a lot of time and effort into making our organic skincare completely pure and natural, so they are nourishing and soothing for even the tiniest and most delicate new arrival! Yet they are also effective enough to use on your toddler to clean up all the mess they invariably get themselves into! When we say organic we mean organic.

Sodium laureth/lauryl sulphate
Sodium laureth/lauryl sulphate (or SLS) is a harsh foaming agent and detergent present in many shampoos, shower gels, bubble baths and even toothpastes. Worryingly, it started life as an industrial garage floor cleaner due to its corrosive nature and its ability to remove grease.SLS is commonly known as a skin irritant, especially for those with sensitive skin or suffering from eczema and psoriasis, as it strips the protective oils from the skin, leaving it raw and irritated.When combined with other ingredients, it can form nitrosamines, which are carcinogenic. The Journal of the American College of Toxicology, in their final report on the safety assessment of SLS, have even stated that it is used around the world in clinical studies as a skin irritant. Tests have shown the use of SLS can cause eye damage, and can leave residual levels in the heart, liver, lungs and brain from skin contact alone.
parabens/benzoates
Parabens or benzoates are synthetic preservatives widely used in food and cosmetics – they extend the shelf life of the product and inhibit microbial growth. It has been claimed that these preservatives are oestrogen mimics which penetrate the skin and disrupt the hormonal system. They have also been known to cause allergic reactions and skin rashes, as well as being linked to eczema and asthma. Evidence published in the Journal of Applied Toxicology indicates that parabens can also be detected in human breast tumours.
We have banned the use of parabens and benzoates in our products and, after years of research, we are using the mildest food-grade preservative system, to ensure the product is fresh and mild for your loved one. This is supported by the Soil Association and Organic Food Federation.

The presence of alcohol in cosmetics strips the skin of its natural moisture and destroys the defence barrier, making it easier for bacteria, viruses and moulds to enter the body.
perfumes/fragrances
Perfumes or fragrances are usually petroleum-based, and side effects of their use can include headaches, dizziness, rashes, respiratory problems, vomiting, skin irritation and multiple chemical sensitivity. We have ensured that no alcohol, perfumes or fragrances are used in our organic skincare products, so they are as pure as possible to use on delicate skin. We are confident that our organic and natural ingredients are enough to provide a pleasing yet natural perfume to help soothe your baby.
